Meet The Pastor

pastormichaelRev. Michael Morris is a Chicago native and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He earned his  M. Div. and M.C.E. degrees from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and was ordained a Deacon in 1974 and an Elder in 1979. He served Faith UMC in Freeport, Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Rosecrance in Rockford, Bethel in Shannon, McHenry First and Palatine First. 

Rev. Morris has served on the following conference committees through the years: Nominations, Bd. of Ordained Ministry, District Committee of Ordained Ministry, Congregational Development, District Strategy, District Committee of Superintendence, District Building & Location Committee, and the Conference Council on Finance & Administration. Favorite aspects of his work include teaching, preaching, and seeing people grow in their faith.

 He and his wife Jolene have three children, Lise – (husband, Dana), Aaron – (wife, Melissa) and Glenn, along with six granddaughters (Maggie Mae, Delaney, Cecilia,  Alexa, Avery & Brooklyn) & their dog Brice).

Michael and Jolene enjoy visiting & hiking in the National parks. They  visited Door County for 10 years before they bought their home 19 years ago. They have taken several trips to the Holy Land with groups from the churches they have served.
